Best Metal Album
To me, the best metal release of the year was Weapon's Drakonian Paradigm. Not only did I give it a good review, but I listened to the disc over and over and over again. If it was an old vinyl record, there would definitely be no grooves left in it after all the plays I put it through. I was even moved enough by the disc to get off my lazy ass and interview the band, and it takes a lot to get my lazy ass motivated enough, that is for sure.

I must say for all the shit I had to deal with in 2009 it really was a good year introspectively. My friends and family kept me sane and from going off the deep end (and losing my house). I got to spend quality time with my son Sebastian, and I had time to realize what's important in life. There were many kick ass shows, including the ones Faces of Bayon got to play, playing on the same bill with some of my current favorite Metal bands like Black Pyramid, Zoroaster, Gates of Slumber, and finally getting our first CD under way! My first trip to the Maryland Death Fest was a blast and I will be doing it again this year! I don't want to jinx it but 2010 is shaping up to be a MUCH better year and where can you go from the bottom? Hell? Nah, the Cosmos! DOOM ON BROTHERS AND SISTERS!!!
